BabyWatch: Beyonce

Mrs S. Carter might be preggers but she isn’t letting that slow her down! Beyonce has been business as usual promoting her new perfume pulse and launching House of Dereon in London’s Selfridges. Check out her latest outfits.

In Hof D at the Selfridges launch in London.

First there was the Roberto Cavalii sequinned short dress and jacket ensemble; she certainly is a magpie if it glitters ..she gotta have it. Beyonce looks really cute showing of sexy legs in super high Louboutins…Nice!

Outfit 2 at the launch of pulse in Macys’ NY was a Lanvin dress with a fab feather hem  from their 2012 Resort collection. Lanvin,  is really working for Queen B their fabulous draping seems perfect for her already curvaceous body; the Nicholas Kirkwood shoes set it off nicely.

Taraji …The Karate Kid premiere

Dress: Naeem Khan

The lovely Taraji P Henson hit the red carpet on Monday night for the new Karate kid movie wearing this stunning bead/mirror embellished sheath dress. The reflective black and gold dress by Naeem Khan (Fall 2010) was paired some strappy black heels by Rene Caovilla  and pewter/metallic nail polish. I’m loving her decision to leave the accessories at home as the dress is a statement piece all on its own!

Judith Leiber clutch

My favourite part of the whole look is this black beaded clutch.

In recent times Taraji has been rocking the red carpet pretty hard and looking great doing it. I love the overall look she has here the makeup and hair are understated with a bit of fun added… the pink lipstick the wave to the asymmetrical bob.

I’m not usually a fan of this tone of pink lipstick but it really suits her, I’m feeling the nude eyeshadow with the heavy liner… she is also rocking the makeup product of the moment …  false lashes (im not keen on them)

Rihanna .. Elle magazine

July 2010

Rocking  her fame on the Elle magazine July 2010 issue cover shoot; … not sure when they actually shot this but as you probably know by now Rihanna has changed her hair already.

Here is some back stage action:

As everyone knows Rihanna has been killing us with her cutting edge high fashion style for the past 2-3 years, Elle keep that edgy look whilst making it a little vintage.

Most of the looks are safari inspired although they opted for  bright sparkles on the cover; ..  they get very wild inside with the help of designers from Lanvin & Cartier to Cavalli & Phillip Lim.

In the interview she talks about her favourite designers and a little about her love life … read more from the Elle interview below:

On Rated R album: “I wanted pictures that represented strength and fearlessness but still femininity—a strong woman who can be vulnerable. Every woman is made up of vulnerability and strength; no matter what race you are, no matter what you’ve been through in your life. Every woman has that strength that is undeniable, but we also have really big hearts. It’s just us.”

On Matt Kemp: “I have a boyfriend. I’m so happy. I feel really comfortable, and it’s so easy. I have such a chaotic life, but at the end of the day, that is just my peace. It keeps me sane, really, talking to him and talking to my family.”

On popstardom : “If I were in Barbados still, I would be dreaming about this. I asked for it, and I love it, so why am I complaining? My first day on tour, I remember saying ‘I’m so tired—this is so much.’ Then I thought, What the fuck? You asked for this—you prayed to God to tour like Madonna.”

On designers she admires: “It’s clear there are definitely fewer black women in the high-fashion industry. One of the things I respected most about Gucci was that they did a print campaign with me. I’m a black girl on a fashion spread for Gucci—that was a big deal. I respect designers who aren’t afraid to go outside the box. I went to a JeanPaul Gaultier show, and I saw girls who are thicker than me, beautiful and voluptuous and different ethnicities. That made me so excited. I thought, Okay, I can work that, for sure.”

On Chris Brown: “A year ago, I was very confused. Because he was my best friend. All of a sudden, one night changed our whole lives—not only our friendship, but our lives. I wanted to wake up one day and just not have that pain anymore. I wanted to be with him again or get over him—it was either-or. I just didn’t want to feel to feel the pain, the confusion.”

Top 5 Fashion Must-Haves

Our wardrobes are sometimes stuffed with a chaotic collection of rarely-worn, badly-made and trendy disappointments. It may be time to revisit the building blocks of a great wardrobe, so let me take you back to the basic.

See by Chloe

The White Shirt

The long-sleeved, white button-down shirt would be my first choice because you can dress it up or dress it down. Pair it with jeans for your weekend, a serious business suit for workdays, even a full flirty skirt for evenings out.

The Little Black Dress

The “LBD” is a wardrobe classic that still sizzles. The best of them get their allure from their simplicity body-skimming fabrics tailored in flattering lines that focus attention on the female form without overshadowing the woman herself. Never tight or loose, your ideal dress leaves you feeling glamorous yet comfortable, not overexposed and self-conscious. Necklines are negotiable, but go with a knee-length hem in the best fabrics you can afford.

The Black Pants

A well-made business suit would be a great addition to your closet, but if you either can’t afford it or don’t need it, a pair of black dress pants will do just fine. The fit should work with your figure, not against it. Flared or straight cut legs, various rises and different pocket options are all available. Ideally the fabric has a bit of drape, wool blended with a touch of stretch is best.

 The Perfect Jeans

Finding a pair of jeans that fit properly can be the greatness feeling in the world. Preferably, they should be versatile and flattering and able to take you from day to evening; darker washes, without too much embellishment will outlive the fads. If the budget allows luxury denim is a must as they survive the weekly wash better and their extra refinement and details looks appropriate in almost any setting. Mid-rise boot cuts balance out a belly, straight legs work well for shorter women, and jeans with a back rise higher than the front fit a generous booty better.

Classic Burberry Trench

The Classic Coat

From the myriad of stunning outerwear on offer, there are only a few truly timeless styles. The unembellished long coat in cashmere, camelhair or a more affordable wool-blend, will last through dozens of winters. Swing styles flatter every figure, while pea coats are even more trend-proof. Colours should be classic such as black, brown and camel. Last but not least try an endlessly chic trench coat, perfect for all occasions.
